Who Are We

We are a group of people who love to learn about, make, and enjoy wine. My name is John and I began asking about getting a club together where we could share what we've learned, taste what we've made and generally enjoy the good gift of wine and winemaking.

Right now - I can't wait to share a bit of the Orange Chocolate Port I'm aging. (If there's any left after I taste wee bit now and then - well about every other day - to see how it is developing! )

Post a comment to this and join the conversation.

Interest is Growing

We have heard from a good number of folks who are interested in the organization of a wine club for the Tri-State area.

Let us hear from you - jump in, post a comment, and say "Hi" to other folks who share your interest in making, tasting and sharing wine. Then jump over to the new link to Wine Spectator videos. Some fun stuff there.

Perhaps you have seen this quote: "Drink wine, and you will sleep well. Sleep, and you will not sin. Avoid sin, and you will be saved. Ergo, drink wine and be saved." - Medieval German saying.

Gee - That's a Lot of Wine!

"What are you going to do with all that wine," my wife asked shortly after my fifth trip to Bluff Bew Haus.
It was last October and I had recently decided to dip my toe in the pool of going back to the wine making hobby I enjoyed back in the 70's. But you know how that goes - right? Eight batches later and an orange chocolate port to die for... well, I'm hooked.
Last fall I dug nine holes at our cabin near Blanchardville, WI. I'm thinking I need to make it fifteen holes. We will need to lose a few trees - but might as well start a vineyard - don't you think? In any case - there's that old line about how "it takes one to know one!" So hopefully a new wine maker's club for our area will lend support to our habits.
Gotta go - there's a new South African Cab to start and I need to check on the funky apricot-date batch I started last night just for grins. Oh... about my wife's question. "Drink some, share some, drink some, enter some in a contest, drink some...."
